Nigeria head coach Eric Sekhou Chelle expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance following their 2–0 victory over Algeria in the AFCON 2025 quarter-final, while stressing the need for continued focus as the tournament progresses.

Goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams secured a deserved win for the Super Eagles, who delivered a disciplined and energetic display to book their place in the semi-finals.
“Me and my players, we are very happy,” Chelle said after the match. “The team played very well and I am so proud of them. They deserved this victory.”
Despite the impressive performance, the Nigeria coach was quick to downplay any sense of complacency, reminding his players that the journey is far from complete.
“This is only one game,” he added. “If we want to stay ambitious, we need to keep working hard again.”
