Nigeria’s Super Eagles may be in for a rude shock when they take on The Cranes of Uganda in their last group match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, as the men from Kampala are ready to give 100% effort in order to win the game.
Sports247 reports that although Uganda lost their first group game 3-1 against Tunisia and Nigeria defeated Tanzania 2-1 on the same day, The Cranes believe they can storm back with victories in their next two matches.

This verdict was revealed by the East African team’s attacking midfielder, Allan Okello, who theorised that they can still qualify from Group C by defeating Tanzania this Saturday and then shock Nigeria in their last fixture of the first round on Tuesday.
The Cranes will have history on their side in next week’s encounter, as they shocked Nigeria in the semi-final at Ghana 1978 to reach the final for the only time in their and Okello believes they can repeat that feat with 100% effort from everybody in the squad.
The Vipers FC playmaker disclosed, “Everyone has been working so hard, and we’re all trying to get in there. Unity is there, and it’s all about working so much harder.
“We’re all trying to give 100% effort for the team. We all want to give 100% in each match so that, in this tournament, nothing is going to stop us from making a change.”
