The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been tipped to win the ongoing 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco because they have ‘the most reliable attacking force,’ Sports247 reports.
This verdict was passed by the technical director of Burkina Faso, Vincenzo Alberto Annese, who pointed out that the presence of Victor Osimhen in Nigeria’s attack is a very potent weapon for the Eagles.

Although he admitted the Eagles tend to struggle if Osimhen is off form or replaced due to injury, Annese stressed that the Nigerian squad has proven so far at AFCON 2025 to be more reliable than other pre-competition favourites.
He mentioned Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, DR Congo and Zambia as countries that entered the ongoing competition as teams to watch but have now fallen by the wayside.
Conversely, Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Algeria on Saturday took the Eagles into the semi-finals and just two matches away from winning a fourth continental title, which Annese believes they are capable of achieving.
Eric Chelle’s men now have to overcome the host country, Morocco this Wednesday in order to reach Sunday’s final against either Senegal or Egypt, but Annese hinted that the Nigerian squad can even go all the way to the trophy, with Osimhen leading their historic charge.
Annese told Corriere dello Sport of Italy, “Nigeria have a good attacking force. They are among the top teams, but I think they are more reliable. The Super Eagles have Osimhen, who, for me, is the strongest centre forward in the tournament.”
