The squad — a blend of key overseas stars and top performers from domestic giants Simba SC, Young Africans, and Azam FC — reflects Gamondi’s philosophy of building a “strong, well-balanced side” rooted in local identity.
Samatta, Msuva Headline Final Squad
Captain Mbwana Samatta returns in top form after a resurgence with French Ligue 1 side Le Havre, while experienced forward Simon Msuva also makes the final cut.
Gamondi has kept faith with standout Premier League performers such as Feisal Salum, Mohammed Hussein, Pascal Msindo, Yakoub Suleiman, and rising talents Kelvin Nashon and Novatus Dismas.
England-based defender Haji Mnoga (Salford City) is among the notable foreign-based inclusions, bringing continuity and experience following his AFCON 2023 appearance.
Tanzania Eye Historic Breakthrough
Drawn in a demanding Group A with Nigeria, Tunisia, and Uganda, Tanzania will aim to surpass their highest-ever points tally achieved in 2023.
Gamondi has challenged his squad to “push to get results in every game” as they pursue a maiden knockout-stage qualification.
Tanzania open their AFCON 2025 campaign against Nigeria on 23 December, before facing Uganda (27 December) and Tunisia (30 December).
