Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has described Nigerian football fans as eternally demanding, insisting that external pressure does not affect his mindset as Nigeria continue their campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Speaking from the team’s camp in Fès, Osimhen said the passion of Nigerian fans is unmatched, noting that supporters always expect more regardless of results. According to the Napoli forward, such expectations come from love for the game and the national team.
Osimhen explained that he has learned to block out outside noise, stressing that once the team boards the bus and steps onto the pitch, his focus narrows strictly to football. He said pressure from fans, media or expectations does not influence his performance or decision-making.
The striker added that playing for Nigeria requires mental strength, discipline and total commitment, qualities he believes the current squad possesses. He noted that the team understands what is at stake at AFCON 2025 and remains focused on delivering results rather than pleasing critics.
Osimhen also praised the unity within the Super Eagles camp, saying the players are locked in on preparation and execution as they approach the knockout stage. He stressed that the group is driven by internal motivation rather than external narratives.
Nigeria face Mozambique in the Round of 16 on Monday, 5 January, and Osimhen insists the Super Eagles are mentally ready to handle the pressure as they push for continental glory.
