Sports247 reports that the former Blackpool and Queens Park Rangers of England right-wing-back, who previously played for Fernebahce of Turkey, got injured during Saturday’s victory over Algeria.

Although he had to be replaced in the dire minutes of the Super Eagles’ 2-0 win in that match, the former England youth international enthused that he will be fit enough to line out against Morocco this midweek.

Rather than throw up his hands in surrender and rule himself out of the upcoming semi-final fixture, Osayi-Samuel is staying hopeful of making full recovery in order to pass a late fitness test.

He acknowledged that many Nigerians are counting on him to keep doing well in the Eagles’ back-four, and he also wants to prove all doubters wrong, hence his determination to play against Morocco

Osayi-Samuel declared enthusiastically, “I pray to God for him to give me the energy to showcase my ability. A lot of people count on me, while some sleep on me.

“It’s in games like this that I have to show people what I can do. I’ve played well, and the team has played well, but this is not the final.”

He concluded by admitting that the game in Rabat will be full of intensity, especially as Morocco will play in front of their teeming fans and they have Real Madrid of Spain attacker, Brahim Diaz, who is the tournament’s current top scorer.

“We now have to face Morocco, and that would be another opportunity for me to showcase my ability. I love the way we are playing, and I believe we can do better in the next game.

“We had a statement win against Algeria in the quarter-finals and Morocco will think twice about us; but they also have a good team and a player who has been scoring in each game.

“They have their strengths and the crowd will be on their side, but we’ll keep focusing on ourselves and do what we have to do in order to win,” Osayi-Samuel affirmed.
