Reacting to the Super Eagles’ emphatic 4–0 victory over Mozambique in the Round of 16, Ndidi said the result was pleasing but insisted there is still room for improvement.

The Besiktas midfielder noted that while Nigeria scored four goals, the team also missed several chances that could have made the scoreline even more decisive.

Ndidi highlighted the clean sheet as a major positive from the match, especially after earlier concerns about defensive lapses during the group stage.

According to him, shutting out Mozambique showed improvement in concentration and organisation at the back.

The Super Eagles skipper added that the squad has developed a strong competitive mentality, with players pushing each other to higher standards both in training and during matches.

He emphasized that unity within the group has been key to Nigeria’s impressive run so far at the tournament.

Ndidi also dismissed any sense of complacency, explaining that knockout football demands consistency and focus from start to finish.

He said the team understands that tougher tests lie ahead and will continue working hard to address areas that need refinement.

Nigeria will now turn attention to the quarter-finals, where they will face either Algeria or DR Congo, with Ndidi insisting the Super Eagles remain united, grounded and determined to keep progressing at AFCON 2025.
