Chelle disclosed that he is happy with the strides being achieved by his players at AFCON 2025 and thanked them for making his current job the best of his coaching career.
The Franco-Malian tactician stated, “I feel good, and I am happy that I am able to do what I want. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad, but at 100% this is the best job for me.
“I am happy, and that’s why I try to do my best every time, like my players do on the pitch. I am very proud of them, and I am very proud to work for this nation.”
Chelle continued by revealing that he and all players in the squad are on the same plane regarding their targets at the ongoing competition, where he revealed that they have a huge target to achieve.
He declared, “I want to try and bring something to the country. I try to be ambitious every day and every moment. I am happy that my guys feel the same way.
“They want to die for Nigeria, and they are ready for that in this tournament. I see that in every training session that I have with them.
“I take it into my heart, and I put it into every discussion. That’s why every goal we concede is like we have already been beaten.
“I want to give the best of everything, because this is the best period of my life. So, we just have to continue this way, and I just focus on my players as we go for the war … which is the big match.”
The former coach of Mali’s national team and MC Oran FC of Algeria concluded with a pledge that he and his players will not underrate The Mambas of Mozambique in Monday’s knock-out fixture, as he assured their fans that they will give the game all the effort it deserves.
“We will continue with all our intensity. This is a big tournament for us and a big moment to let our name be heard,” Chelle submitted philosophically.
