Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman says Nigeria’s focus has fully switched to the quarterfinal clash against Algeria following their emphatic 4–0 victory over Mozambique at AFCON 2025.

Speaking after picking up the Man of the Match award in the Round of 16, Lookman admitted the team was pleased with the performance but stressed that celebrations must be short-lived.
According to him, the disappointment of missing out on World Cup qualification is firmly behind the squad, with full attention now on the knockout stages of the tournament.
The Atalanta forward noted that the Super Eagles understand what is at stake and are determined to maintain their momentum as the competition intensifies.
He explained that knockout football demands total concentration, discipline, and consistency, especially against strong opponents like Algeria.
Lookman added that the team believes in the process laid down by the coaching crew and will continue to execute instructions on the pitch, regardless of the opponent. He emphasized that unity and focus will be key as Nigeria chases a place in the semifinals.
Nigeria face the Algeria national football team in the AFCON 2025 quarterfinal, with the Super Eagles confident but fully aware of the challenge ahead.
