Speaking ahead of the encounter, Dele-Bashiru revealed that the Super Eagles have been studying their North African opponents closely as part of their preparations.
“Tunisia will be a difficult team to play against, but we’re confident,” Dele-Bashiru said. “We’ve been analysing them and preparing well for the game.”
The midfielder stressed that the technical crew and players have spent time reviewing both Nigeria’s performance against Tanzania and Tunisia’s strengths, with the aim of correcting mistakes and improving overall execution.
“We’ve looked at what we did right and what we didn’t do well in the last game,” he added. “The idea is to make the right adjustments before this match.”
Dele-Bashiru believes that preparation and mental readiness will be key against a disciplined and experienced Tunisian side known for their tactical organisation.
“At this level, you have to be switched on from the first minute. We know what to expect, and we’ll be ready,” he said.
Nigeria go into the match on three points after their opening win, while Tunisia are expected to raise their intensity as they push for a positive result in Group C.
For Dele-Bashiru and his teammates, the focus is clear: apply lessons learned, stay compact, and seize key moments in the game.
“We’re confident in ourselves and in the work we’ve done,” he concluded.
