Comoros have released their final 26-man squad for the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, with head coach Stefano Cusin maintaining the core of his team while introducing two first-time call-ups ahead of the tournament in Morocco.
Cusin has kept faith with the group that featured prominently during recent AFCON and 2026 World Cup qualifiers, signalling a continued commitment to stability as the Coelacanths aim to reinforce their growing status on the continent.
However, the Italian coach has added fresh energy with the inclusion of newcomers Zaid Amir and Yannis Kari, both of whom impressed at the 2025 Arab Cup with the Comoros A’ team.
Their selection highlights the team’s long-term strategy of blending youth with experience.
The squad features established leaders such as midfield orchestrator Youssouf M’Changama and versatile forward Faïz Selemani, two players expected to play central roles in Comoros’ attacking approach.
Goalkeeper Yannick Pandor also returns, joining Ben Salim Boina and Adel Anzimati in a reliable and familiar goalkeeping trio.
In defence, Cusin has opted for a balanced combination of experience and youthful dynamism.
Veterans Kassim M’Dahoma and Akim Abdallah are joined by emerging talents Idriss Mohamed, Kenan Toibibou, and Ismaël Boura, offering depth across the backline.
Comoros, who famously reached the AFCON knockout stages in 2021, will face hosts Morocco, Mali, and Zambia in a demanding Group A.
They open their campaign against Morocco on 21 December in Casablanca, a challenging start that Cusin believes could shape the trajectory of their tournament.
The team will finalise preparations with friendly matches against Gambia and Madagascar.
