Speaking after the win in Fès, Chelle described the performance as impressive and deserving, noting that the team executed the game plan effectively. However, he stressed that the job is far from finished, as tougher challenges lie ahead in the knockout stage.
The Super Eagles’ coach explained that preparations have already begun for the quarterfinal encounter against the Algeria national football team, highlighting the need to raise aggression, intensity, and concentration levels.
Chelle added that while the scoreline against Mozambique was convincing, matches at this stage of the tournament demand maximum focus and physical commitment. He emphasized that Nigeria must approach the Algeria game with the same hunger, discipline, and tactical awareness if they are to progress further in the competition.
The Super Eagles will face Algeria in the quarterfinals with confidence after maintaining a clean sheet and delivering one of their most dominant performances of the tournament so far.
