AFCON 2025: Chelle Considers Two Likely Strategies For Super Eagles’ Clash With Tunisia

Super Eagles’ coach, Eric Sekou Chelle has disclosed that he currently has in mind two likely strategies that he will employ for Saturday’s clash with Tunisia at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Sports247 reports that the Eagles will battle one of their boggy teams this Saturday night in Fes, Morocco for their second group match of the ongoing continental showpiece.

Though Chelle hinted at two tactical options he already has running through his mind, the Franco-Malian tactician refused to provide any hint about the starting line-up he will use for the decisive game.

He, however, pointed at the possibility of either adopting an all-out attacking approach for the fixture or to absorb pressure from the Tunisians, while waiting to expose them with counter attacks.

The former coach of Mali and MC Oran FC of Algeria then went on to admit that he will have to be very tactical in his approach, because he knows Tunisia will be tougher than what he faced in the Eagles’ 2-1 victory over Tanzania on Tuesday.

Chelle retorted, “I cannot talk about my starting eleven; you will see it at the beginning of the game. I (have) something now in my mind. I have two options.

“The first is to maybe let the ball go to Tunisia and when we get the ball go directly to score a goal or to continue with our philosophy, because Tunisia is a great game. Maybe we will change something.”
