AFCON 2019: Samuel Kalu returns to training

Nigeria received a massive boost ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with the return of Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu to full training.

The 21-year-old who has been out since March 9 with a hamstring injury was seen taking part in full training with his teammates by Sud Ouest journalist, Thierry Vautrat.

Kalu who made his debut for the Super Eagles after the 2018 FIFA world cup in Russia is part of the players named in the provisional list of the Eagles – who are set to report for international duty on June 2 in Asaba.

The former Genk attacker and GBS Academy graduate made 30 appearances for The Girondins – scoring four goals before his injury.

Bordeaux who are 14th on the Ligue 1 standings will face second-placed Lille away from home in their next league game.
