AFCON 2019: Ighalo to miss two weeks of action

Former Watford striker, Odion Jude Ighalo is set to miss two weeks of action following the injury he suffered on Friday when his side Shanghai Shenhua played a 1-1 draw away at Tianjin Teda.

The Super Eagles striker was withdrawn twelve minutes into the game, arising fear he might not be fit for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON).

Ighalo who has scored seven goals in eight games since joining Shanghai Shenhua will be influential for the Nigeria national team going into the 24-nation tournament in Egypt.

The 29-year-old finished as top scorer during the qualifiers with seven goals and will hope to replicate such feat when the competition starts in June.
