AFCON 2019: Enugu Rangers goalkeeper in-line for Ghana call-up

Enugu Rangers and Ghana goalkeeper Nana Bonsu is set to be given a chance to earn a place in Ghana’s squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt, Sports247 reports.

The 30-year-old joined Enugu Rangers after spells with Ghanaian clubs Ashanti Gold and Heart of Lions.

He was also a member of the Black Stars team that played in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru.

“I’m ever ready to be called into the Black Stars because my performance is better. I’m in good shape now,” Bonsu stated.

Bonsu was named the most outstanding goalkeeper in the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup group stage by the Confederation of African Football, after making 29 saves.

The official announcement of the Ghanaian provisional squad is yet to be made, but the team will begin their camping and preparation for the African Cup of Nations on May 27.

Ghana are in the same group with defending champions Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau
