AFCADU CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEEK 3 PREVIEW: KG Sports Tackles Rainbow FC As Ultimate Stars Hopes To Maintain 100% Winning Streak

The AFCADU Champions League enters its week 3 this weekend with matches coming up at various centers in Agbor. The star match this weekend will be between KG Sports Academy basking in the euphoria of their 4-1 mauling of Ekuku Agbor United last weekend and Rainbow FC who will be looking to bounce back to winning ways after their 2-2 draw against Big Daddy in week 2. Rainbow FC are second in Group D with 4 points and the Coach Mathew led side will be looking to improve on their records against KG Sports as they take the trip to Gbenoba Grammar School ground. Both sides have played 4 times with KG sports winning twice and Rainbow winning once and draw once. Coach Matthew acknowledged the fact that playing against KG sports will be a tough encounter but they are not under any pressure. “We are not under any pressure playing against KG Sports” he said “We know when two good teams meet, the best side on the day will go with the victory. Rainbow FC is looking up to playing KG sports this weekend, they are a good side and they raped Ekuku Agbor 4-1 last week so we expect a tough opposition against them” Coach mathew said from his base in UK.

Uriel FC will take on Star Peak FC in the group C encounter. Uriel FC with 3 points from 2 matches will be looking to add to their tally while Star Peak who lost 0-1 to Ultimate last weekend will be looking for their first point in the series. Coach Adodo Martins showed respect for the Star peak side and expects an equality tough encounter. “Star peqak has been a very good team to play with, they play good football and they have a good coach in the person of Coach Ifeanyi Dike, we have played three matches against them in the past, drawn one and lost two, even if it has not been an easy game for them during those matches, but we are ready to dig it with them and play good football and hoping for the victory this time around.” Coach Adodo Martins said.

“We have been together and discussed following our last defeat to Ultimate, however, we are having some injury worries of some of our key players not available in the first game, but hopefully we have some coming back and looking forward to get the points with victory against Uriel” Coach Ifeanyi Dike stated.

Ultimate stars will be looking to make it 100% winning streak when they host Emerald FC at the Igumbor Otiku Secondary School. Ultimate opened their campaign with the 3-0 win against Ambassador in week 1 before a lone goal victory against Star Peak in week 2 while Emerald defeated Uriel 2-1 in their first game and will be hoping to secure an away victory against Ultimate Stars. Director of Ultimate Stars George Nkem Uzoma is delighted that his team has started the tournament in flying colors and hope to maintain the form as they continue to Top group B. “Its been a thing of Joy that we have played and won our first two matches, and i am still hoping the next match we will still win, although game of football is win, lose or draw but i hope and pray for the victory” he said. “The most improtant thing is that there has been an improvement in my team since the tournament, the coach is trying and the boys are trying, they are all sacrificing al they got to ensure they bring victory despite the challenges with players injuries we encounter along the line”

Meanwhile, Soccer stars who are top of group A along with Ika Lions will be facing each other as both sides have won their opening two matches. The match will come up on Saturday at the Stadium and coach Chukwuka of Ika lions is expecting a tough match despite his team’s two victories. “We have played two matches and won but we are expecting a higher and better winning in our future matches, we are preparing as we expect tougher teams in our next matches, the last match we played against Palace we missed so many opportunities and so we are hoping for better in the future.” he said.

Another interesting Match up this weekend will be between Winners FC and Big Daddy FC. Winners rested in week 2 after loosing 0-2 to Rainbow in week 1 while Big Daddy has 4 points from their 3-1 win over Ekuku Agbor United and 2-2 Draw to Rainbow FC. The coach Ojewa Winners’s side will be looking to bounce back as they currently are the bottom of group D. The match will be played on Sunday at the Stadium and coach Ojewa expects a winning from his side. “My expectation is for us to win the game, this is a game we need most to keep our hope running. We are in a tough group with big teams like Rainbow, Winners, Big Daddy, KG Sports and Ekuku Agbor United, these teams are all highly experienced” he said. “In a match you expect to win, lose or draw, but we will try to win as we are far behind others who are top of the table with 4 points, so we really need the game and hope for victory” he added

Other matches coming up this weekend includes Golden Boys taking the trip to Abavo united while Green Rangers will visit Ihu-iyase at Ewuru Sec School Ground and Ceemy Iyke will host Superfly FC.
