Edo Queens head coach Moses Aduku has attributed the team’s consistent performance this season to a well-established football philosophy and strong team unity. Despite losing a few key players during the campaign, Aduku says the squad has maintained its form thanks to a seamless adaptation process by incoming players.
“A philosophy has been established in the team, and the new players have fit into it,” he said. “Even before the continental campaign, we brought in some new players. Though they weren’t registered for that competition, training with the team helped them understand our style of play.”

Aduku stressed that treating every game like a cup final has been a crucial mindset for the team, who currently sit at the top of their group in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).
“The players understand what is expected of them, and they’ve delivered. It’s not been easy, but we approach each match with intensity and focus,” he noted.
The coach acknowledged the team’s recent defeat to Nasarawa, attributing the loss to a momentary lapse in concentration, but remained optimistic heading into the Super Six phase of the competition.
“My girls gave a good account of themselves despite the loss. I’m not worried. We are fully focused on the Super Six and ready to compete.”
Edo Queens will look to build on their momentum and aim for the NWFL title when the Super Six kicks off.
