Aduku Confident as Falconets Brace for Senegal Test in U-20 World Cup Qualifiers

Nigeria U-20 women’s head coach, Moses Aduku, has expressed calm confidence ahead of the Falconets’ crucial third-round clash against Senegal in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, reaffirming his team’s pedigree and determination to maintain their perfect qualification record.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Aduku emphasized the Falconets’ rich history at the global stage, noting that Nigeria has never failed to qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup since the competition’s inception.

According to the experienced tactician, that legacy continues to drive the team’s focus and belief going into the two-legged tie.

“The Falconets have never failed to qualify for the World Cup. We remain calm and focused,” Aduku said. “Changing the field doesn’t change the ball. Our objective is clear – to make Nigeria proud.”

The Falconets will face a physically strong and tactically disciplined Senegalese side, who have already shown resilience in the earlier rounds of the qualifiers.

Aduku, however, believes his players are mentally prepared and technically equipped to rise to the occasion, regardless of venue or external pressure.

He also called on Nigerian football fans to play their part by turning out in large numbers to support the team, stressing that home backing could provide an added boost in such a decisive fixture.

“We urge fans to come out and support us at the stadium,” he added.

Nigeria’s U-20 women have long been a dominant force in African youth football, consistently producing talents who go on to excel at senior international level.

As the Falconets take another step on the road to the 2026 World Cup, confidence remains high that Aduku’s side can once again deliver and keep Nigeria’s proud record intact.
