Nigerian-born mixed martial arts star Israel Adesanya has revealed that the end of his professional fighting career may be closer than many fans expect, admitting that he has fewer than 10 fights left before calling time on the sport.

Speaking candidly about his future, the former UFC middleweight champion explained that his focus is gradually shifting away from Nigerian-born mixed martial arts star Israel Adesanya has revealed that the end of his professional fighting career and toward finishing his career on his own terms.

“I honestly don’t see myself going much longer,” Adesanya said. “I probably have less than 10 fights left.”

The 35-year-old outlined a realistic timeline, suggesting a limited schedule over the next two years as he listens more closely to his body and personal goals.

“Maybe two fights this year, and possibly another two in 2027,” he added. “After that, we’ll see.”

Adesanya, widely regarded as one of the most skilled strikers in MMA history, acknowledged that while his competitive fire still burns, the physical and mental demands of elite-level fighting are factors he can no longer ignore.

“I’ve given a lot to this sport,” he noted. “At some point, you have to understand when the end is in sight and prepare for life beyond fighting.”

Since bursting onto the global MMA scene, Adesanya has built a reputation for his creativity, precision, and confidence inside the Octagon, becoming a major figure not just in combat sports but also in global pop culture.

While he stopped short of announcing a definitive retirement date, his comments strongly suggest that fans may be entering the final chapters of his storied career.

“I still love what I do,” Adesanya concluded. “But I want to leave the sport healthy, fulfilled, and proud of what I achieved.”

For now, the “Last Stylebender” remains focused on upcoming challenges—but with a clear awareness that the finish line is approaching.
