Adepoju Charges NPFL Clubs On Youth Programmes

Former Super Eagles star, Mutiu Adepoju (Headmaster) has tasked clubs in Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) to pay more attention to youth development efforts.

Adepoju said in an interview with sports247.ng that all NPFL clubs are under obligation to provide youth development programmes internally.

He reasoned that such efforts would help the club produce documented progress reports of young Nigerian talents, the way it is done in many top footballing nations.

Adepoju, who is the ambassador of Spain’s league, La Liga, in Nigeria, further told sports247.ng that there is an existing agreement between League Management Company (LMC) and NPFL clubs on youth projects.

“We expect all clubs in the league to start the program of establishing youth football academies.

“It is part of what is expected of them, to enable them meet statutory FIFA standards on club operations,” Adepoju concluded.
