Ademola Lookman Linked With Return To English Premier League?

Atalanta of Italy winger, Ademola Lookman has been linked with a likely return to the English Premier League due to his sparkling form at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Sports247 reports that, although Lookman could not hit the right spark during his days in England with Charlton Athletic, Everton, Fulham and Leicester, his current form is attracting renewed interest.

The possibility of a return to his country of birth has also been touted for the former England youth international due to his recent troubles at Atalanta, where two coaches have been sacked on account of falling out with him.

At the height of his troubles at Bergamo, sequel to his insistence on making a summer move to Inter Milan, Lookman was touted with a deal at Galatasaray, where his national team colleague, Victor Osimhen is now a demi-god.

However, due to Galatasaray’s accumulated transfer spending spree in recent years, the Istanbul-based side are hesitating over a likely deal for Lookman, and a report by Teamtalk in England has urged EPL clubs to usurp his contract.

The report adds in part, “The Nigerian winger has begun his second AFCON campaign with four goal contributions – the joint-most in the group stage with two goals and two assists.

“Lookman scored the decisive goal in his country’s 2-1 opener against Tanzania and was instrumental in Nigeria’s 3-2 victory over Tunisia – assisting the first two and finding the net for their last.

“The 28-year-old forward won African Player of the Year award, after netting a hattrick for Atalanta in the 2024 Europa League final.
“So, in this unstoppable form, and with his wealth of experience in big moments, can the top clubs continue to keep sleeping on Ademola Lookman?”
