Sports247 gathered that, while Showunmi will seek new values for his career in USA with Louisville City FC, Adegboyega moves to Rotherham on an 18-month contract from Norwich City.
The 22-year-old defender, who is also a former Republic of Ireland under-21 international, joined Norwich from League of Ireland side, Drogheda in August 2023, but did not play a single game for The Canaries.
However, he earlier made 31 league appearances for Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership during a loan spell last season and may debut for The Millers in Saturday’s home game against Wimbledon.
While Adegboyega will seek to make a better impact with Rotherham, who are five points from safety in League One, Showunmi will seek a better impact at Louisville in America’s second-tier USL Championship.
This follows the decision by Crawley Town to allow him move in an early transfer swoop, after the 25-year-old Showunmi scored seven goals in 32 appearances for The Terriers.
