The bye-elections, conducted by the LSFA Electoral Committee led by Alhaji Tijani Abdulazeez, initially saw two aspirants, Abdulrahman Abolore and Adedotun Coker, vying for the position. However, Abolore was disqualified for violating Article 5L of the Electoral guidelines, leaving Coker as the sole candidate.

The election took place on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the FA Secretariat on Ogunlana Drive, Surulere, Lagos. Coker won unopposed with 13 votes, underscoring the confidence the delegates have in his leadership.

Immediately after being declared the winner, Adedotun Coker was sworn in by Barrister Abiodun Ogunnubi. This election fills the vacancy that arose after Hajji Gafar Liameed was unanimously elected by the FA Congress to replace the impeached former Chairman, Fouad Oki.

In his post-election remarks, Coker expressed his delight at the support he received from the delegates and pledged to give his best for the association. His election underscores the integrity and transparency of the electoral process and sets a positive tone for the future of football in Lagos State.

As the newly elected Vice Chairman, Coker is poised to contribute significantly to the development of football in Lagos State.
