Defender Adedokun Adejumo Reflects on Trade Safe FC's Gritty Effort in Awka City Stadium Battle Against Solution FC, Despite Narrow 1-0 Defeat

Trade Safe FC’s dependable defender Adedokun Adejumo shared his sentiments about the clash with Solution FC at the NNL opening match that took place at the Awka City Stadium in Anambra on Saturday.

Despite a strong defensive effort, Solution FC secured a late 1-0 victory, leaving Adejumo to provide insights into the team’s performance.

Trade Safe FC managed to hold Solution FC at bay throughout the first and second halves, maintaining a goalless draw until the 2nd minute of the added 5 minutes in the second half, where Solution FC broke the deadlock and claimed the victory.

Speaking exclusively to Sports 247 in a post-match interview, Adejumo expressed satisfaction with the team’s overall performance.

“Our intention was to come to Awka to get the maximum three points, and we thank God that we didn’t do badly.

We could see that the referee was biased in his officiating, but with the performance that we put up today, I believe that my team can do much better in upcoming games,” Adejumo remarked.

When asked about the team’s strategy moving forward, Adejumo emphasized the belief in the new season, drawing parallels with Argentina’s World Cup journey.

He stated, “This is just the first game. It also happened to the Argentines; they lost the first match against Saudi Arabia but still went back and won the World Cup.

I believe we would pick up by the second game. With the support of our coaches, I think we will do more.”

Regarding personal goals for the season, Adejumo underscored the commitment to the team’s chairman’s vision of staying competitive and avoiding relegation.

He expressed optimism about achieving a better position in the league and aiming for the final playoff in the Super 8 before advancing to the premier league.
