The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) has confirmed that the 2025 NWFL Nationwide will take place at the Bwari Township Stadium, Abuja, from October 10 to 17, with ten teams set to compete for honours.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, October 1, NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, announced the new kickoff date, venue, and fixtures.

She emphasized that the competition remains a vital platform for emerging clubs aspiring to climb the women’s football league ladder in Nigeria.
“The Nationwide competition remains a vital platform for clubs across the country to showcase their potential and progress through the league system. We are committed to ensuring it is competitive, transparent, and successful,” Shabi said.
According to the schedule, teams will arrive on October 10, followed by a pre-match technical meeting. Matches will commence on October 11 and continue on October 13, 14, 16, and 17, while October 12 and 15 are set aside as rest days.
Highlighting the significance of the tournament, Shabi explained that the top two teams from each group will earn promotion to the NWFL Championship, a major incentive for the participating clubs.
“At the end of the tournament, the two best teams from each group will be promoted to the NWFL Championship, which is a huge motivation for all the participating clubs. We wish them the very best of luck and look forward to an exciting week of women’s football in the Federal Capital Territory,” she added.
Groupings
Group A: Osklean FC (Rivers), Rangers Women FC (Enugu), Plateau Queens FC (Plateau), DreamStars Ladies FC (Lagos), C2E Sports Academy (Abia).
Group B: Sporting Angels FC (Rivers), Alexander Queens FC (Enugu), Rosaria Victrix FC (Imo), NAF Queens FC (Abuja), Solo Wonders FC (Akwa Ibom).
The week-long tournament promises to deliver thrilling action as clubs battle for promotion and a chance to rise within Nigeria’s women’s football structure.
