Nigeria’s foremost sports event organizers, Nilayo Sports Management Limited (NSML), have officially announced the second edition of the PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City International Half Marathon, scheduled to take centre stage in the nation’s capital on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
With the theme “Steady Strides,” this year’s race captures the rhythm, determination, and ambition that define elite long-distance running — symbolizing both the growth and vision of a marathon rapidly establishing itself as a global benchmark.

In a historic milestone for Nigerian sports, the race has been awarded the prestigious World Athletics Label, an extraordinary achievement attained in record time. This recognition makes the PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City International Half Marathon the first marathon globally to earn the label so swiftly, underscoring its organizational excellence and global potential.
The 2025 edition is set to attract elite international athletes, top Nigerian runners, and global marathon enthusiasts, alongside World Athletics officials who will supervise the event.
Speaking on the development, Yetunde Olopade, Managing Director of NSML, described the collaboration with PremiumTrust Bank as a groundbreaking moment in African sports.
