ABS defender loses father

The management of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC is saddened by the passing away of the father of one of its players, Godwin Abah, Mr Abel.

According to Godwin, Mr Abel died in the early hours of Thursday in Owukpa, Ogbadibo local government area of Benue state at the age 68.

Godwin Abah was in the ABS match day squad to face DMD FC in Gombe on Saturday and was already on the way to honour the match before the news broke to him.

The brilliant defender was immediately granted permission to alight from the team’s box and reunite with his family even as the management prayed God grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Reacting to the development, the ABS Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, said the entire management, staff and players are saddened by the demise of Mr Abel.

“We are deeply touched to know of the demise of Mr Abel.

“Everyone in the ABS family sends love and support to Godwin and his family at this tragic moment.

“We will continue to give Godwin all the support he needs at the moment and be wherever he wants us to be at the right time” Chukwuemeka said.
