The 18-year-old striker joins Fremad following successful training spells with the club on two separate occasions, during which he impressed the technical staff with his qualities in attack.
Fremad’s director, Jesper Blicher, expressed his satisfaction with the signing and highlighted the potential the young forward brings to the team.
“Yusuf has trained with Fremad on two occasions, where he showed himself to be an exciting striker with great potential,” Blicher said. “The cooperation with Sporting Lagos has made this transfer possible, and we are very much looking forward to seeing Yusuf wear the Fremad shirt.”
Abdullahi is a product of Sporting Lagos’ talent academy, one of Nigeria’s emerging development hubs known for nurturing young players with strong technical foundations and tactical awareness.
His move to Europe represents another success story for the Lagos-based academy and reflects the growing pathway for Nigerian talents into the European football system.
At just 18, Abdullahi is viewed as a long-term project for Fremad, with expectations that he will continue to develop physically and tactically under the club’s structured environment. His pace, movement, and eye for goal were key factors behind Fremad’s decision to complete the transfer.
The partnership between Aarhus Fremad and Sporting Lagos played a crucial role in facilitating the deal, emphasizing the importance of cross-border collaboration in modern football development.
For Abdullahi, the move marks a significant step in his young career, as he prepares to adapt to European football and make his mark in Danish colors.
