Nigeria’s Super Falcons midfielder Deborah Abiodun has praised Sunday’s 3-1 friendly victory over Ghana as a good step forward in the team’s preparations for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), praising the intensity and physical nature of the match.
Speaking after the clash in Casablanca, Morocco, Abiodun highlighted the importance of facing such a challenging opponent ahead of the continental showpiece, which kicks off on July 5.o
“It was a good training match. I like the fact that the Ghanaians brought physicality to the game,” Abiodun said. “It’s really good for us that we won. This is a step toward achieving our aim in this competition. We want to keep winning until we reach our goal.”
The Super Falcons showed dominance and tactical efficiency throughout the encounter, with goals from Chiwendu Ihezuo and Asisat Oshoala sealing the emphatic win.
