A new year message from Musa Nimrod; President, Nigeria Volleyball Federation

The journey of Nigeria Volleyball continues, despite the various shortcomings, limitations and challenges, we are surely  moving, from one stage to another. This is the effort of everyone that shared the common passion, and sacrifice one thing or the other to see that this game survive the stifling situation common to many sports apart from the alleged category A!

As we have stepped into 2020, it is my prayer that what ever stop us from getting best in our endeavors of 2019 should be overcome this new year.

I welcome you all to this new year and wish to commend your individual or group effort that are gradually redefining the nature and culture of volleyball in Nigeria.

I wish to say thank you for still believing in the sport, for not loosing faith in our vision. We don’t have to look back to know how far we still have to go ahead, but we can look around to know how well are we prepared for the task ahead!

I call on all actors at home and in diaspora to join hands with programs in various communities and grow this game from the grassroot. No matter how small, your ideas, suggestions and opinions as well as constructive  criticism  will always be welcome, not only to the Federation, but to your various Zonal Representatives, your State Association Chairmen as well as Clubs Executives. Until we conquer the challenges we face from our immediate environment we can not guarantee true change and growth in the bigger volleyball community.

We must remain resolute and strong, committed and dedicated in contributing our quota. We can be true stake holders, no matter the position we occupied in the system. 2019 is a year with so many of memories and stories that will help to reshape our expectations in 2020.

This is an Olympic year, be it as it may, I wish our team and worthy ambassadors a great and good luck in their outing in our bid to fight for the single slot to represent the continent! I congratulate the entire Nigeria volleyball community for seeing a new year, may we see more of this year in peace and prosperity.
