In his New Year message, Adeboye described 2026 as a year filled with promise and opportunity, particularly for young Nigerians whose dreams and talents remain the heartbeat of the nation’s sporting future.

“2026 is a year we look forward to with great expectation,” he said. “It is a season to deepen our investment in grassroots sports, strengthen our structures, and give our youths the platforms they deserve to excel, not just in sports but in life.”

The presidential aide noted that sports will continue to play a central role in promoting unity, discipline, and national pride, stressing that the lessons learned from recent competitions must be transformed into concrete progress in the year ahead.

Adeboye reaffirmed the commitment of the Tinubu administration to youth empowerment through sports, describing grassroots development as the foundation for sustainable national success.

“Our focus in 2026 is clear — to take sports to the communities, schools, and local governments, where real talent is discovered and nurtured,” he added

“When we build from the base, excellence at the top becomes inevitable.”

He called on athletes, coaches, administrators, private partners, and fans to embrace collaboration and shared responsibility in the new year, noting that meaningful growth requires collective effort.

As Nigeria steps into 2026, Adeboye expressed optimism that the year will bring fresh opportunities, stronger institutions, and greater achievements for Nigerian sports.

“Together, we will write new success stories. Together, we will raise champions. And together, we will make 2026 a year of progress, purpose, and pride for Nigeria,” he concluded.

He wished Nigerians a peaceful, prosperous, and fulfilling New Year, urging everyone to remain hopeful, united, and committed to building a stronger nation through sports and youth development.
