Following the conclusion of the highly anticipated Jagaban Cup football scouting competition in Lagos, the spotlight now shines on 17 promising players who have earned the opportunity of a lifetime.
Out of the hundreds who showcased their skills during the tournament, these young talents have been handpicked to represent Nigeria on the international stage.

The tournament, which featured eight competitive teams, attracted the attention of top football scouts who meticulously observed the proceedings at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. Over the course of four intense days, players were put through their paces, demonstrating their abilities across various disciplines while the scouts carefully assessed their potential.
After careful deliberation, the following players emerged as the cream of the crop: Emmanuel Stephen, Gabriel Chidi, and Ochedikwu Caleb from Mavlon FC; Adelami Shola, Onyema Emmanuel, and Waliu Ojetoye from Ikorodu City FC; Seun Lawal, Enyiazu Ebuka, and Kehinde Ibrahim from 36 Lion FC; Gift Apama and Emmanuel Chukwu from The Charlesann FC; Agbede Hassan from Dino SC; Ajani Adegbola from Smart City FC; and Bakare Ayomide from Broad City FC.
Additionally, three exceptional talents from the U16 category, namely Egbedokun Samson from Mavlon FC, Cisse Mamady, and Alex John from 36 Lion FC, have been earmarked for youth development programs abroad.
These selected players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills to clubs across Europe and beyond, with destinations including Belgium, Czech Republic, Latvia, Russia, Bulgaria, Poland, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Venezuela. Visa processing and other necessary arrangements are already underway to facilitate their journey.
Speaking on behalf of the organizing committee, Mr. Wale Joseph lauded the success of the Jagaban Cup, describing it as one of the most meticulously organized grassroots football scouting tournaments in recent Nigerian history. He commended the professionalism and transparency of the scouting process and expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Football Association, led by Hajj Olawale Gafar Liameed, for providing the platform for grassroots talents to shine on a global scale.
