Malumfashi Football Club of Katsina has faced expulsion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) due to multiple breaches of the league’s rules and regulations.
This decision comes following the club’s failure to participate in consecutive matches as scheduled.
The expulsion stems from Malumfashi FC’s refusal to honor two consecutive matches in Conference D of the NNL: Sokoto United vs. Malumfashi FC and Malumfashi FC vs. City FC of Abuja.
Additionally, the club previously failed to attend the rescheduled 45-minute league match against Sokoto United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
According to Dr. Ayo Abdulrahaman, the Chief Operating Officer of the League, Malumfashi’s actions constitute a breach of Article 14.7 of the NNL regulations, which carries a fine of One Million Naira (N1,000,000.00).
As a result, the league invoked Article 14.10, leading to the expulsion of Malumfashi FC from the competition.
All matches played by the club have been nullified by the rules.
Furthermore, the Nigeria National League has tasked the Katsina Football Association with assisting in the recovery of all fines imposed on Malumfashi FC.
This includes addressing issues related to items forcefully taken from referees during the match against Sokoto United in Malumfashi.
The expulsion serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations set forth by the league, emphasizing the integrity and fair play expected from all participating clubs.
