Chairman of City FC, Abuja Chidi Okonkwo has cautioned the technical crew and players of Delta Queens to up their games after a hard 3-2 victory against Athletico ladies of Ivory Coast in the first semi final of the WAFU-B CAF women’s qualifiers in Benin City.
The President of the Nigeria National League Club owners forum said the early 4 minutes goal they conceded in the first half and how they struggled to emerged victorious is an eye opener for them to be cautious against a very focused Ampem Darko Fc of Ghana who defeated Sam Nelly of Benin Republic 6-1 in the second semi final.
Coach of the Ampem Darkoa FC, Joe Nana Adarkwa said lessens have been learned from last year’s disappointment when they failed to qualify after a 0-3 lost to another Nigeria side, Bayelsa Queens.
However Coach Tosan Blankson Blankson dismissed the threat posed by the Ghana second semi final 6-1 scoreline.
“I knew our semi final match against Athletico ladies of Ivory Coast will be more difficult than the much anticipating final against Ampem Darkoa Fc of Ghana.”
The grand final between Nigeria representatives Delta Queens against a private own Ampem Darko FC , the Ghanaian representatives will kick off by 4:00pm on Thursday 31th at the Sam Ogbemudia stadium, Nigeria.
