Chief Operating Officer of Smart City Football Club of Lagos,Seyi Jones has parted way with the club management by mutual agreement.
Speaking with sports 247.ng on phone this afternoon, the licensed fifa player’s agent and former FC Bethel manager said he had left the NNL Lagos based team due to the failure of the club Chairman to provide a contractual agreement stipulating his job description and remuneration.
“I am calling you this afternoon to announce that i am no longer a chief operating officer of Smart City Football Club of Lagos.I started working for the club since October last year and as i am talking to you now, no contractual agreement between me and the club chairman and i feel that the best way for me is to leave the club and wish the club best of luck in its subsequent engagements,”said Jones who disclosed there is no quarrel between him and his employer.
Jones said for him to work in Smart City, he needs to have his contract paper which would stipulate his monthly salary, training allowances, match bonuses and other benefits.
” If others may agree to work this way, I will never accept that because i am a trained football adminstrator and i know what i worth and for me to work without contract, i would rather walk away,”he said.
Before his resignation, Jones led the team to win Jagaban Cup last year December and qualified the team to Lagos State FA cup final coming up on the 23 of this month
Meanwhile Smart City FC are leading the group B2 of the Southern Conference NNL
