Daniel Ogunmodede, head coach of Remo Stars has bemoaned his team’s lack of discipline and poor defending in their 3-0 loss to Bendel Insurance on match day four of the 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Premier League.
Ahead of thier game against Enyimba, Ogunmodede reminisced back on their woeful away defeat but he’s confident that his side are ready to go again against high flying Enyimba.
In his pre game talks, Ogunmodede said that although January is a good month for the team after wining three matches without conceding a goal but unfortunately they ended it woefully, defending poorly in their last game and the opponent took advantage of that.
“We were highly indiscipline in our last game and it cost us a lot but we’ve put that behind us. It’s a new month and we want to approach it in a positive manner and hopefully, it’s going to be a wonderful month for us.”
‘We are aware of how Enyimba play, we have tried to watch a lot of their games and no doubt about it, they are a top club in the country, in the league with an household name but nevertheless, we don’t have a special approach on how we want to play them,” he allayed.
“The team will approach the game normally with the mentality of we being at home, secondly we want to win and thirdly, we want to maintain our status on top of the table.”
“This is the mentality that we have to come out as champions at the end of the league and we know the consequence of coming out as a champion.”
“What that means is that we need to defeat a team like Enyimba and which we are absolutely ready for,” he boasted.
