Sunday, 8th of January 2023, will herald the start of the new Nigeria Professional Football League Season and Remo Stars goalkeeper Vincent Edafe, believes the wait was due to the organizing body trying to cross all T’s and dot the I’s for perfection.
“I feel very excited that the long awaited league will kick off this weekend,” Edafe told Sports247.ng
“I believe for the league to have taken this long to start unlike before is because the organizers of the league are putting everything in place to make the league be among the best in the world,” he added.
The former Abia Warriors shot stopper will be featuring for the Ikenne-based side in the league for the first time this season and he expects a tough season due to the format but maintains that the club goal remains a continental slot like they achieved the previous season.
“I expect it to be very competitive especially because it’s an abridged league format unlike the previous season. There’s no margin for error in an abridged league which makes it difficult”, Edafe said.
“I hope to achieve my own personal target but the club goal comes first which is to help maintain the standard of playing in the continent again”, he concluded.
