Smart City Football Club of Lagos will face Maghreb Sportive de Fès Under 21 this morning in the first match of their international playing tour of Morocco.
The Bola Ahmed Tinubu boys are in North Africa Country for the two-week tour in which the Nigerian side will engage some of the professional clubs in friendly matches.
Aimed to showcase the players and provide them with the much-needed international exposure to achieve the dream of joining foreign clubs, the tour was put together by the management led by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Sports, Adeyinka Adeboye who is also the President of the Club.
Having settled in, since arriving at Casablanca five days ago and undergone training sessions under the guidance of Head Coach, Gafar Muhammed, the players will file out against Maghreb de Fès later today.
The other friendlies will see the Nigeria National League new boys entertain Raja Club Athletic Under 21 on Saturday and confront Wydad Athletic Club Under 21 on Monday, September 12 in Casablanca.
Smart City Football Club secured promotion to the country’s second tier – the Nigeria National League, following the successful debut season in the Nationwide League One which was concluded with the playoffs last month.
