All eyes and ears are currently in Enugu to follow and monitor proceedings in the Nigeria National League Super Eight playoffs and Coach of Remo Stars has told his players it’s not over until it is over after a win in their first game.
Remo Stars defeated Ekiti United 3-0 in the opening fixture yesterday and set themselves in good standing to return to the top flight but Daniel Ogunmodede told Sports247 that it’s an important win but it’s not over yet.
“The game meant a lot to us as a team as we know the relevance of winning ones first game in a competition like this,” he said. “It’s a well deserved victory and from what I tell them in camp, we’re not there yet, we need to keep our heads above the water and keep our eyes on the glory as it’s very important because it’s not over until it’s over,” he concluded.
Other games saw Gombe United and El Kanemi Warriors play out a 1-1 draw, Bendel Insurance lost 1-2 to 3SC Ibadan prompting a splash of cash rewards from the Oyo state Governor on the lads and DMD forcing Niger Tornadoes to a share of the spoils in a 0-0 draw.
The games continue today 8th September, 2021 with El Kanemi Warriors taking on Niger Tornadoes FC, Gombe United face DMD, Bendel Insurance trade tackles with Ekiti United and the pick of the bunch is the southwestern derby clash between 3SC and Remo Stars.
