The much-awaited Ejigbo Inter-wards football championship begins July 10 at the two centres, the two centres are Ejigbo mini Stadium, and Jakande Estate playground, Oke- Afa, Lagos.
Six wards in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area LCDA are expected to take part in the competition being sponsored by the Chairman of the council, Monsuru Oloyede Obe.
The wards are Ifosi ward, Aigbaka ward, Oke- Afa ward, Fadu ward, Ailegun ward and Ilamoshe ward.
In fixures made available to our correspondent, Ifoshi ward would face Aigbaka ward at Ejigbo centre, while Oke Afa wards tackle Fadu ward at Jakande centre. All remaining matches would be played at the two centres.
Match coordinator, Ahmed Sekoni told journalists in Lagos that the competition was put together to support the Ejigbo council boss for his second term in the forthcoming council poll in Lagos.
He said the tournament would also foster friendliness, unity and love among the youths in Ejigbo LCDA and urged the participating wards to raise a football team that would make the tourney a memorable one.
“ It is a competition that received the blessing of Honourable Monsuru Oloyede Obe and we are happy to stage this tournament in his honour.
“Don’t forget that we also want to use the competition as a campaign tool for the council boss because he has done well in his first term and he deserves to go for the second time which I believe he will win the poll, “ he said.
