Senior Special Adviser to the Edo State Deputy Governor on Sports Mrs. Sabina Chikere has applauded the Aisha Falode- led NWFL board for keeping faith with the December 9th, 2020/21 NWFL premiership kick-off date.
The Chairperson of Edo Queens Football Club of Benin-City said she was happy that the NWFL 2020/21 football season is kicking- off without further delay, adding that the majority of NWFL clubs are elated with the development.
“I’m most delighted that the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) for the 2020/21 season is starting as scheduled. To me, I think it is a welcome development and we are all happy about it. So I want to commend Madam Aisha Falode-led team for a good job, we all know that it was the COVID-19 Pandemic that necessitated the long break. Now that everything has been put in place for the commencement including the inspection of facilities and match venues, we are good to go.”
“For Edo Queens Football Club we are ready, and I know too that other clubs are equally ready for the most popular female league in Africa. We are looking forward to having a hitch-free competition. Edo Queens is rated very high in the NWFL and every other female club in Nigeria is emulating Edo Queens because we set the pace why others follow. We are very excited about the development in Edo Queens I know that my girls have a lot to offer so by the special grace of God, Edo Queens will get there.”
“I also want to use this medium to thank our Oga, the Deputy Governor Rt.Hon.Comrade Philip Shaibu for being there for us and I know that our girls will do everything within their football prowess to make Edo State proud. What Oga needs from us is victory and medals at the end of the season. I pray God Almighty will give us a successful league season.”
