As a goodwill gesture to all the colleagues that are still battling with the tougher working conditions in the post COVID-19 scenario, the AIPS Sport Media Awards have decided to extend the deadline for submissions until November 9.
The coronavirus pandemic has caused many changes in the sport activity this year. After the lockdown that affected many countries, sport is now slowly resuming, but the opportunities to attend sporting events are still limited.
After discussing the matter with the AIPS Executive Committee, Gianni Merlo, president of the Jury, has announced that the new submission deadline, originally set for October 7, will be moved to November 9, as colleagues hope to regain full access in the short term.
“Many top sporting events were rescheduled in October, so we must give the opportunity to our colleagues to submit their work about these events, too,” said Merlo.
The Awards’ Ceremony will be moved from February to April due to these exceptional circumstances.
“By extending the eligibility period and the Awards’ Ceremony date, our hope is to provide the flexibility that all the colleagues need to finish their work without being penalised for something that was beyond anyone’s control, because COVID-19 has changed the life of everyone,” concluded Gianni Merlo.
All submissions first published or broadcast since October 8, 2019, until November 9, 2020 will be accepted for this third edition of the AIPS Sport Media Awards. Deadline for submissions will be November 9, 2020, 18:00 CET. All submissions need to be made via
