The last three spots in the 2018 finals of Nigeria’s Women Basketball Premier League have gone to Customs, Plateau Rocks and Kaduna Angels, sports247.ng can report.
The trio picked the spots on Thursday, following their impressive form at the Savannah Conference of the competition which is also taking place in Enugu due to its abridged format this season.
In Enugu, First Bank and Dolphins qualified for the Final Six along with newcomers Mountain of Fire and Miracles, who defeated First Deepwater 57-56 to qualify on Wednesday night.
Similarly, after pulsating performances, Customs, Rocks and Angels picked the three final slots from the Abuja centre to forge ahead in the 14th Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League.
Customs and Plateau Rocks have been in devastating form against all opposing teams in Abuja, while Kaduna Angels won the third ticket at the Savannah Conference after beating Nasarawa Amazons 84-36.
Having earlier beaten Benue Princess 58-34, the Kaduna side recorded wins in other games just like the two other qualifiers for the Final Six, which is scheduled to hold in Lagos starting on Saturday.
The Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League finals will hold from November 3 to 7 in the sports hall of Lagos National Stadium, with First Bank of Lagos as the defending champions.
The winner and runner-up will represent Nigeria at the FIBA Zone 3 Women Basketball Clubs Champions Cup qualifiers in Cotonou, Benin Republic from November 12th to 15th.
