Nigeria’s cadet female national team, Flamingos, will have to be at their very best during Wednesday’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup semi-final clash with Brazil, as the South American team’s coach, Rilany, has disclosed that her players will do everything to hurt the West Africans throughout the encounter.
Sports247 reports further that the 40-year-old former defender, whose full name is-Rilany Aguier da Silva, asserted that her strategy for the game in Salé, Morocco will be to turn Nigeria’s turbo-charged running method of approach into a weakness for the Flamingos.
While acknowledging that it will be a tough encounter between two ambitious teams that are hungry for a spot in this weekend’s final, Rilany affirmed that her singular thought for the clash is how to ensure that Brazil sustain the tempo for all 90 minutes and keep going if it extends into extra time.
“I’m expecting an extremely difficult match. Nigeria are a very physical team. By the 90th minute, they’ll probably still be running as if it were the fifth. We’ll need to be very strategic with our game plan to find ways to hurt Nigeria,”
Rilany submitted.
