Folarin Balogun Admits He ‘Could Move Back To England’ In January Transfer Window

AS Monaco of France’s Nigerian-born striker, Folarin Balogun has admitted he ‘could move back to England’ during the January transfer window, because everything about football is dynamic, Sports247 reports.

Balogun, who was at the centre of alleged interference by US president, Donald Trump in the ‘suspension’ of a red card he got during this year’s FIFA World Cup, admitted he is keeping his options open into the January window.

He refrained from expressing any regrets that a deal he almost sealed with Everton fell through at the last minute this summer, adding instead that he will not rule himself out of another move at the end of this year.

However, the former Arsenal of England rookie, who opted for an international football with his country of birth USA, instead of England, where he grew up and his father’s nation, Nigeria, insisted he is not desperate to leave Monaco.

This comes two months after the 25-year-old striker’s proposed £40m move to Merseyside collapsed on the summer’s transfer deadline day, as the Nigerian-born USA international changed his mind at the 11th hour and withdrew from the move.

He was reportedly not happy with how The Toffees handled the negotiations and his medical, which made him uncomfortable to continue with the deal at Goodison Park, but he has now served a strong hint that he might yet be back in England early next year.

“Potentially, I could move back to England. Football has many twists and turns, as we saw after the World Cup. I was close to a transfer. It didn’t materialise but, for sure, it’s definitely an option,” Balogun affirmed.
