Shooting Stars Head Coach, Salisu Yusuf welcomes his former side Kano Pillars on Wednesday as both sides face off in a Matchday 3 rescheduled fixture of the EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
The encounter, scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026, presents both teams with an opportunity to strengthen their league positions and secure a much-needed victory.
Shooting Stars will head into the fixture looking to improve their home form, which has so far been below expectations this season. The Oluyole Warriors currently occupy 17th position on the NPFL table with seven points from six matches, leaving them with plenty of ground to make up.
Their latest league outing ended in a goalless draw against Nasarawa United on Matchday 7, extending their recent struggle to convert home opportunities into maximum points.
Kano Pillars, meanwhile, will also be seeking a better result after dropping points at home in their latest outing.
The Sai Masu Gida played out a 1-1 draw against Sporting Lagos on Matchday 7, with the result denying them the opportunity to claim all three points on home soil.
The fixture in Ibadan therefore promises to be a competitive encounter, with both teams having strong motivation to return to winning ways.
Shooting Stars will hope the home advantage can work in their favour, while Kano Pillars will be aiming to take advantage of any uncertainty surrounding the Oluyole Warriors’ home performances.
Match Officials
The Nigeria Premier Football League has appointed Abubakar Abdullahi as the centre referee for the encounter.
He will be assisted by Ikpomwonsa Imuentiyan as Assistant Referee 1 and Scholastic Ikeobi as Assistant Referee 2, while Ajewole Emmanuel will serve as the Reserve Referee.
