CAMP IN CRISIS! Only 9 Players Show Up as Super Falcons Kick Off Olympic Preparations!

An alarm bell has rung across Nigerian football as the Super Falcons officially opened camp with a shocking turnout of just nine players.

Following a disastrous WAFCON performance that saw Nigeria miss out on the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time in history, interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen summoned 28 players for a high-stakes 2028 Olympic qualifier against Comoros.

However, as training kicked off in Ikenne, less than a third of the squad had reported for duty.

The nine early arrivals include:
* Farida AbdulWahab
* Tumininu Adeshina
* Joy Igbokwe
* Fatimoh Solaty
* Christiana Uzoma
* Blessing Nkor
* Valentina Uroko
* Glory Edet
* Sandra John

With crucial back-to-back fixtures scheduled just four days apart, Eguavoen faces a daunting race against time to build cohesion and tactical clarity.

The technical crew is currently operating with a skeletal group while anxiously waiting on marquee stars including captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala, Ashleigh Plumptre, and Monday Gift to arrive later in the week.

Under mounting pressure to redeem the team’s public standing and secure a spot at the Olympic Games, Nigeria cannot afford another blunder.

The pressure is firmly on Eguavoen to rapidly blend these early arrivals with incoming veteran stars before taking the pitch against Comoros.
