Nigerian winger Kehinde Ozein Hamzat has taken another step in his football career after joining Turkish club Fişekspor as part of the team’s preparations for the new season.
Sports247 reports that Fişekspor announced the agreement with Hamzat on its official social media page, welcoming the Nigerian to the club and expressing confidence in his ability to contribute to the team.
The Turkish club described Hamzat as a player whose talent, energy and fighting spirit can add value to the squad as it prepares for the new campaign.
“Welcome to the family, Kehinde! Together, towards new goals. Together, stronger!” Fişekspor stated in its announcement.
The move marks a new chapter in Hamzat’s football journey, which has included grassroots football and university football in Nigeria.
The Nigerian winger is a 2026 graduate of Lagos State University (LASU), where he studied Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education.
During his time at LASU, Hamzat represented the university’s male football team, the Trail Blazers. He also played for several grassroots football teams in Lagos and its surrounding areas before securing the opportunity to continue his career in Turkey.
His move to Fişekspor therefore represents more than a change of club, as the Nigerian now gets the opportunity to test himself in a different football environment after developing through the grassroots and university football system.
Fişekspor, based in Istanbul, will be hoping Hamzat can bring the qualities highlighted in the club’s announcement as the team works towards its targets for the new season.
For Hamzat, the immediate task will be adapting to his new surroundings, settling into the squad and competing for opportunities as he begins this latest chapter of his career.
The move also adds another Nigerian name to the growing number of players pursuing football opportunities outside the country through different development pathways.
After progressing through grassroots football and representing LASU, Hamzat will now look to make his mark with Fişekspor and turn the opportunity into a successful chapter of his football career.
