Zudachi Construction forward Izuchukwu Agada has set his sights on winning the Island AllStars PatrickLingo Super League Football Tournament after inspiring his side to a 4–2 victory over Remed Healthcare in the opening match of the competition at the Lagos Business School, Lagos.
Agada produced a decisive individual display, scoring twice as Zudachi Construction made a winning start to their campaign. His performance also earned him the Man of the Match award for his contribution to the six-goal encounter.
Reflecting on his performance, Agada remained modest despite his goalscoring impact, rating his overall display at 70 per cent.
“First of all, I give God all the glory. I would rate my performance at 70 per cent out of 100. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to my team’s victory,” Agada told SPORTS247.
His opening goal demonstrated both composure and awareness, with the forward maintaining his confidence after controlling the ball before calmly finishing the opportunity.
Explaining his mindset during the move, Agada said his experience and years of playing football helped him remain composed when the chance presented itself.
“My thought was whatever you know how to do, you must always deliver when the opportunity presents itself. Football is a game I have played since childhood, so when the chance came, I knew exactly what to do. Once I controlled the ball, I was confident I would score,” he said.
The experienced forward is already looking beyond the opening victory, with Zudachi Construction determined to maintain their winning momentum throughout the tournament.
“My message to our fans is that, by the end of this tournament, victory will be ours. We are determined to go all the way and win the title,” he declared.
Agada also issued a confident message to Zudachi Construction’s next opponents, insisting that the team will be targeting another maximum haul.
“To our next opponents, we are coming for another three points. We intend to maintain our winning momentum and approach every game with the determination to win,” he added.
Despite his age, Agada continues to maintain an impressive level of fitness and energy. He explained that his involvement in football beyond playing has helped him remain active.
“I own a football academy, and I am also a FIFA-licensed intermediary. I train regularly with the players at my academy, which helps me maintain my fitness and stay active,” he explained.
Agada added that his passion for football remains as strong as ever.
“I still see myself as a young man because I believe that what you desire in life influences how you approach it. Personally, I do not consider myself old. I remain passionate about football, and that passion keeps me going. I played football at the amateur level.”
With his brace already setting the tone, Agada will now hope to lead Zudachi Construction into another strong performance as their PatrickLingo Super League title pursuit continues.
